Clark Associates (“Clark”, “us,” or “we”) is the food service professional's premier source for restaurant equipment, and provides quality, value, and excellent service demanded by today's busiest restauranteurs. We take pride in providing our valued customers with high-quality products that are safe for their intended use. We are issuing this recall notice because we have received reports that several Lancaster Table & Seating branded high chairs that were manufactured in China broke while in use. You should immediately stop using any recalled high chairs.
We put consumer safety first. In partnership with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), we are voluntarily recalling Lancaster Table & Seating brand high chairs with the below eight model numbers (printed on the warning label found on the front of the seatback and on the product label found on the underside of the seat bottom):
The high chairs have black, mahogany, natural or walnut finishes and were sold in either assembled or ready-to-assemble form. The high chairs were sold from January 2022 through September 2022.
In this recall, we are sending consumers a replacement high chair or a store credit.
We stand behind our products, appreciate the trust our customers put in us, and sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause.
Only high chairs manufactured in China are affected. “Made in China” or “made in ____” is printed on the warning label found on the front of the seatback and on the product label found on the underside of the seat bottom (see photos below).
High chairs labeled “made in Vietnam” are not impacted by this recall and may continue to be used (see photos below).
If your high chair has a Clark “C” on the underside of the high chair's seat, it has already been corrected and is not included in the recall. This is true even if the high chair is labeled “made in China” or “made in________.”
How Do I Obtain My Replacement High Chair or Store Credit?
Step 1
Verify that you have a high chair that is included in the recall by locating the country of origin on the Warning Label or Under Seat Product Label to confirm that it lists the country of origin as “made in China” or “made in ________.” You will need to upload a photograph of the seat back or under seat label using the link below in order to obtain a replacement.
Step 2
In order to be eligible for the replacement or store credit, your high chair (i) must be one of the included models, (ii) must be labeled “made in China” or “made in _____” AND (ii) must not have a Clark “C” stamped or branded on the underside of the High Chair's seat. If your high chair satisfies these conditions, please provide us with your contact information so we can send you a replacement high chair.
Step 3
To ensure that the recalled high chair can no longer be used, you must disassemble the high chair; write on the top of the seat in thick permanent marker or paint, “DO NOT USE;” and, then upload a photograph of the seat using the link below. You will need to upload a photograph of both the top of the seat where you have written “DO NOT USE” and the seat back or under seat label showing the model number and country of origin. If you have multiple high chairs, number each seat consecutively and upload a photographs of each seat. The high chair pieces should then be disposed of.
